SGX is seeking to meet demand from institutional investors, asset managers, hedge funds and market makers in North America.

IPC will facilitate direct access to the venue for North American investors through its Financial Markets Network, providing financial firms in North America to access market data from SGX's equities and derivatives markets.

"The goal of establishing a hub for SGX in Chicago is to make Asia's financial markets more accessible to investors in North America and broaden SGX's international footprint," said Ng Kin Yee, head of market data and connectivity at SGX, in a statement. "We look forward to more participants connecting directly to SGX through the SGX Chicago Hub."
