DTCC Hires Former CFTC Commissioner

Mark Wetjen joins industry utility in public policy role

The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) has hired Mark Wetjen, previously a commissioner at the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) regulatory agency, as a managing director.

At the DTCC, Wetjen will be responsible for leading its global public policy, and related business and legal activities. He will begin his role on September 28, reporting to Larry Thompson, vice chairman and general counsel of the corporation.

Wetjen was a CFTC commissioner from October 2011 through August this year, and served as acting chairman for five months. He is a lawyer whose previous experience includes a senior financial services adviser role in the US Senate.
