CBOE's Lowenthal Adds VIX, LiveVol Duties

CBOE vet will assume business development responsibilities for a broader range of services.

In the expanded role, Lowenthal will now have business development responsibilities for CBOE's VIX Volatility Index and volatility data and analytics provider LiveVol, which the exchange acquired last month (IMD, June 4), as well as for the CBOE Futures Exchange.

In addition, Lowenthal will head the exchange's new Global Client Services group, and will continue to lead its Business Analysis and International Business Development groups.

Lowenthal began his career at CBOE in 1983, and has served in a variety of roles, including trading operations, regulatory services, strategic planning and business development, including responsibility for market data business development.

In his most recent role, he also oversaw the exchange's Retail Market Maker group and its New York office, and was responsible for technology initiatives to increase options order flow, such as CBOE's PulseTerminal trader workstation and its CFLEX flex options trading system.
