Russian markets will get a new reference database from a partnership of NSD and Interfax

Russia's central settlements depositary and Interfax information agency announced that they have partnered to create a reference database containing all available data about Russian issuers and their financial instruments.

The system will integrate and verify official data of the record-keeping of the National Settlements Depository (NSD) and up-to-date information about issuers and securities collected by Interfax. It is intended that clients will be able to integrate their systems with the entire database and its components.

The initial stages of the project will be launched within a month, according to a statement by the NSD.

Once the database is launched, the next step for the NSD and Interfax is to develop a price center: an objective system of assessing the fair value of financial instruments that will meet the requirements of Russian law and be recognized by financial market participants.
