ICBC's data center is housed in Shanghai.

IBM says that Active-Active's ability to have two different data centers possessing the same application and data simultaneously is what separated the platform from competitors as ICBC was going through its solution assessment. The commerical bank has also been working with the mainframe goliath for almost three decades.

"The IBM mainframe has and will continue to help ensure the smooth and secure operations of our information systems."
