Swift VAN Passes ENAT
The Eurosystem Network Acceptance Test (ENAT), comprising six key points, was undertaken by Swift through a public procurement exercise by Banca d'Italia, acting on behalf of the Eurozone's central banks. The tests measured the capabilities of Swift's VAN solution for the technical and non-technical requirements of T2S. Swift is one of two operators licensed to provide VANs, which allow third-party connections to T2S, with the other being SIA-Colt.
"We are delighted to have reached this important milestone in the delivery of our connectivity solution for T2S, and I would like to thank the Banca d'Italia for its strong co-operation with us during the extensive series of tests," says Alain Raes, chief executive for EMEA and Asia-Pacific at Swift.
T2S is envisaged as a pan-European platform, operated under the aegis of the European Central Bank, which will harmonize delivery-versus-payment settlement in central bank money, for most European securities. Swift's connectivity services agreement for T2S will be available by the end of October.
