Bloomberg Makes Data Available To Third-Party App Developers

In a move it says will facilitate innovation and have a major impact on competition in the financial software industry, data vendor Bloomberg is allowing third parties to use its data to create applications which it is now making available to its subscribers via a new web portal.

The Bloomberg App Portal currently includes more than 45 apps that focus on pre- and post-trade analytics and have been divided into categories including fixed-income screeners, valuation and pricing, and technical
