NYSE Technologies to Drive Hong Kong Exchanges' New Data Platform
Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing Limited (HKEx) has selected NYSE Technologies' Exchange Data Publisher (XDP), an ultra-low latency solution that disseminated real-time data to both local and global customers, to power its upcoming HKEx Orion Market Data Platform.
All securities and derivatives traded on HKEx will be included in data platform and delivered in a common message format at more than 100,000 messages per second, or microsecond latency. Orion will first deliver securities markets data towards the end of the second quarter in 2013; derivatives markets integration, as well as a point of presence, enabled by a remote distribution hub, in Mainland China, are set to follow.
"The HKEx Orion Market Data Platform will enable us to improve our customers' market data experience by providing a suite of market data product feeds with content, market depth and bandwidth requirements tailored to suit the needs of different types of customers," says Bryan Chan, head of market data at HKEx.
Meanwhile, NYSE Technologies is enthusiastic about further expanding its business in Asia's emerging markets.
