Network Glitch Halts JSE Trading
Network connection problems between Johannesburg and London led the JSE Securities Exchange to suspend trading on its equities markets for six hours earlier today.
"We noticed the problem as the markets were opening, just after 9 a.m. local time, and re-opened trading at 3:30 p.m.," says a JSE spokesperson.
Exchange officials attribute the glitch to issues involving the international networks connecting the JSE to the London Stock Exchange (LSE), where the South African exchange runs it cash
