After years of ballyhooing and bluster, Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) and IP-based Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) may finally become a reality in corporate networks. Vendors are shipping VoIP PBXs, carriers are introducing services, and market researchers are predicting a rising market, with some reservations.
