in Japan has gone live with the first of a number of planned new trading applications that use Microsoft's Windows NT on the desktop, according to TST sibling publication, Dealing & Investment Systems. The application, which uses Unix and Sybase Inc. on the server, provides trade-capture, order-routing and risk management to the firm's cash equity traders. To date, Merrill is among the few firms in Asia to deploy NT in the trading environment -- though many have laid plans to do so
