Analysis: Eurex US Loses First Round

NEW YORK—Eurex US is close to finishing its first six months in the futures markets wars and most observers say that the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) won this first round.

However, analysts say that Eurex US jolted CBOT and the third titan in this battle, the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME), into action. CBOT shifted to the Liffe Connect platform from Euronext.liffe, and the CME pushed for further acceptance of its Globex system and added to it with the acquisition of Liquidity
