NEW YORK--In a decision that could bring the Big Board a step closer to going electric, the New York Stock Exchange's members have voted to repeal Rule 390, which prohibited stocks listed before 1979 from being traded anywhere but the floor of the New York Stock Exchange. This is due to the challenges made by ECNs and ATSs to the way the securities industry does business.
