Reuters Discounts Aim To Spur Dealing 2000-2 Market Making

Reuters has begun offering incentives for market-makers to put prices into its Dealing 2000-2 automated foreign exchange system, in an effort to build liquidity on the nine-month-old system. The scheme, which went into effect January 18 and is set to expire July 31, comes just months before two bank-sponsored rivals launch their systems in April.

Reuters sent a letter to user banks two weeks ago, detailing its plans to offer banks incentives to post prices on Dealing 2000-2 by giving them
