NYSE And CBOE Ready S&P Basket Products

THIS WEEK'S LEAD STORIES

Both the New York Stock Exchange and the Chicago Board Options Exchange are waiting for the Securities and Exchange Commission to approve their Standard & Poor's 500 index stock baskets.

The SEC will vote on whether to approve trading of the S&P baskets on Oct. 25. If both products are approved, the NYSE and the CBOE will begin trading the baskets on Oct. 26. The NYSE product, called the Exchange Stock Portfolio (ESP), will trade under the symbol BSK. The CBOE's product is called Market Basket
