At Sibos this week in Singapore, Microsoft is again fixing its gaze on the integration realm for financial services and serving notice to pure-play middleware players that there’s a new kid in town (see story, page 1). Microsoft also wants IBM to know that it can provide competitive solutions and systems integration partners--and still charge less than Big Blue.

This time around, the industry will have to take Microsoft seriously. The giant from Redmond has put together a fairly compelling stack
