LSE, Deutsche Börse Face Off in Amsterdam

LONDON--The London Stock Exchange (LSE) is set for a price war with Euronext and Deutsche Börse following an announcement last week that it would set up an off-exchange trading service for Dutch equities.

Deutsche Börse is also gearing up for increased competition with plans to expand its coverage of Dutch equities next month. The Börse will introduce five Dutch brokers--International Market Makers Combination, Optiver, Van der Moolen Amsterdam, Archelon Deutschland and Timber Hill--as market
