Insider hears that a friendly lunch between semi-rival companies Neon and Tibco turned out to be a little expensive. A Tibco manager reportedly kept ordering £60 ($95) bottles of wine, making the lunch "very cordial" indeed. Problem was, when the party of four spoofed for the bill, Tibco had to pay. "It was very expensive," says a source at Neon. Insider isn't worried about Tibco being shy of a bob or two, however. The upcoming IPO should net them a small fortune.
