Instinet Loses CEO of Global Equities As It Files for Initial Public Offering

NEW YORK--Instinet's John Oddie, CEO of global equities and the key architect of the company's new trading platform, has left the organization just as the firm plans to formally file for its initial public offering with the Securities and Exchange Commission in preparation for its listing on Nasdaq.

Although the IPO has been expected for some time, Oddie's departure is more of a surprise. A memo, distributed to employees last week to explain the move, referred to it as a "mutual decision." A
