Goldman Sachs Initiates Remote Trading in Finnish Equities

HELSINKI--Goldman Sachs starts trading Finnish equities on the Helsinki Exchange this week from an access point in London.

The exchange now has 34 cash market trading members, 16 of which are remote members trading from either Stockholm or London--the two access points to the system outside Helsinki.

Pekka Peiponen, senior vice president of equities trading at the Helsinki Exchange, says remote membership of the exchange is growing. This is often seen as a less expensive route than opening up
