Reuters To Reskill, Relocate Several Hundred Staff In Internet-Focused Reorg

LONDON--Uncertainty looms for Reuters staff and hundreds face moving or layoffs, as the company works its way toward its goal of becoming an Internet-focused entity.

Reuters will have to relocate, retrain, lay off and hire hundreds of staff members globally in its latest restructuring effort. The strategy is not yet clear; a project team has been set up to analyze and recommend the best course of action to achieve Reuters' new Internet image (TTW, February 14).
