BNP, IBM SIGN $1.2B DEAL

As TTW went to press late last week, officials of the French banking giant BNP Paribas announced that they have signed a deal with IBM to transform the bank’s IT backbone into "an on-demand infrastructure." The outsourcing deal, which will see the creation of a joint venture comprised of 450 staff from BNP and IBM, is worth up to €1 billion ($1.24 billion) to IBM Global Services over the course of the multi-year contract. The joint venture will run BNP’s IT infrastructure
