Pru-Bache Drives Mortgage Analytics With Intel's IPSC/860 Supercomputer

Prudential Bache Securities Inc. is retooling its fixed income analytics desk around Intel Corp.'s newly-announced iPSC/860 supercomputer. The new parallel-processing supercomputer, which was unveiled at the World Trade Center on Jan. 8, utilizes up to 128 of Intel's high-performance, 64-bit i860 microprocessors and can deliver up to 7.6 billion floating point operations per second (GFlops).
