A group of member banks of the FXNET consortium, which operates a foreign exchange payments netting system, is investigating the possibility of developing a rival to Reuters Holding PLC's long-delayed Dealing 2000-2 order- matching system. After years of carping about the dangers of Reuters' virtual monopoly in the market for foreign exchange transactional systems, the move indicates that the major money center banks are getting serious about building and operating their own order-matching
