Auction Market Features May Be Added To NASDAQ

If the National Association of Securities Dealers adopts the recent recommendations of its quality of markets committee, investors in over-the-counter equities could receive some of the auction market's best features.

The committee, which was chaired by former Securities and Exchange Commissioner Irving Pollack, recommended that the NASD consider establishing a single opening price for each NASDAQ/National Market System issue and that the association move forward with its plan to build a limit
