It may be at the other end of town, but Columbia University's Center for Advanced Technology (CAT) in Computer and Information Systems is working closely with Wall Street. One of 10 CATs partly funded by the New York State Science and Technology Foundation to promote technological cooperation between New York industry and academia, the Columbia center now specializes in solving problems for financial services companies.
