Zap! Turret Glitch Fix Implemented At Merrill

A rather shocking telephone turret problem on Merrill Lynch & Co.'s New York City trading floor was resolved earlier this year when BT North America Inc. added what it describes as an "anti-static" collar to its desktop devices. The turret vendor emphasizes that the static electricity problem was "unique" to the device in use at Merrill, a turret BT customized for the firm.
