More information has emerged concerning the circumstances preceding the retirement of longtime Bankers Trust chief technology officer Carmine Vona (TST, May 13). According to sources close to the bank, Vona's announcement of his decision to retire came in the wake of the bank's dissemination some months ago of a new technology management organizational chart showing Vona reporting up to a new senior management post--along the lines of a chief operations officer--that had yet to be filled.
