Straight Through Processing Is Key, WAP Is off the Map

LONDON--Banks’ IT managers are focused on achieving straight through processing on the path to the Holy Grail of T+1, according to respondents to Trading Technology Week’s 2002 Preview. That goal will be particularly challenging in light of cost constraints.

Nearly all the respondents agreed that the wireless application protocol, WAP, is the most overrated technology. One respondent compares WAP with "having a garage full of three-wheeled cars and the four-wheeled car has just been invented."
