Merrill Lynch says it transacted a record $1.9 trillion in trades for institutional clients over the firm's e-commerce platforms in 2000. The total represents secondary trading in debt and equity products over such platforms as the Liquidity Management System, MLX, the Client Connectivity Application and multi-dealer platforms including Tradeweb, The Debt Center, Euro MTS and Bondbook. Merrill Lynch began aggressively rolling out e-commerce products with the launch of its Direct Markets
