J.P. Morgan May Outsource Desktop Support In Singapore, Following Deal With IBM In Tokyo

J.P. Morgan & Co. is considering bringing in an outside party to handle its desktop support in Singapore. The initiative follows an arrangement made this summer to let IBM handle desktop support in Tokyo--and is very much in line with the firm's thinking worldwide.
The firm's need for help is not surprising: Morgan's Singapore operations present a complex set of desktop support demands. The firm maintains a 100-plus position dealing room that includes Unix-based workstations and servers from Sun
