OPERATIONS AND STP

BUDAPEST--ING plans to set up a European processing center in Budapest, Hungary by the second half of this year, according to bank officials.

The recent move is part of a global strategy to cut costs and increase efficiency by consolidating back-office functions group-wide.

The new regional center will integrate all back-office administration from six of ING’s European branches in Budapest, Bratislava, Sofia, Vienna, Prague and Bucharest, officials say.
