April’s bloodletting in technology stocks may not have happened all at once.

According to First Call/Thomson Financial, the sell-off began before the market peaked on March 10, with insiders and founding investors leading the way.

First Call found that owners of restricted shares who got in on the ground floor of companies filed to sell $22.2 billion worth of their holdings in February, double the previous one-month record.

Also, corporate insiders apparently dumped their positions with abandon
