Metromedia Signs Fibre Deals With Several Financial Institutions

WHITE PLAINS, NY--Several major financial institutions are beta testing a managed network service from Metromedia Fiber Network that can provide up to 80 Gbps bandwidth to a site using Metromedia's network and high-capacity transmission equipment from Nortel.
The service is called Wave Channel and is similar to traditional telecommunications private networks, except that the bandwidth available to customers is so much larger than traditional private line connections.
