Here Be Pirates, Matey

The rescue of Captain Richard Phillips by the U.S. Navy from the hands of Somali pirates early last week was good news, but it could easily become a watershed moment on how pirates operate in the region. Prior to the rescue, the piracy could be seen as a de facto toll for maritime traffic through the Gulf of Aden.
