Tug of War Over Comdisco Continues Between HP, Sungard

CHICAGO--Hewlett-Packard and Sungard continued their battle over Comdisco’s availability solutions (disaster recovery) business last week, firing angry statements and new bids over the bow of the federal bankruptcy court in Chicago, which is handling Comdisco’s case.

The Department of Justice added to the fray by filing a suit in the US District Court of the District of Columbia on Oct. 22, seeking to block Sungard’s $825 million offer on the grounds that it would reduce the disaster recovery
