IT Glitch Halts Globex

BREAKING NEWS

The Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME) was forced to suspend trading of Eurodollar futures on its Globex trading platform for two hours last Thursday, April 14, after users experienced problems accessing the Eurodollar electronic matching engine.

On Friday, the exchange confirmed to customers that the problem stemmed from a failure of a third-party software component in the matching engine's database, which also prevented the engine from automatically switching to the back-up database, CME
