Weeden Links V-Band Turrets via VoIP

TRADING FLOOR TECHNOLOGIES

GREENWICH, Conn.--Weeden & Co., an institutional equity trading firm with about 70 traders, has deployed Voice over IP (VoIP) on V-band turrets, which are more than 10 years old and don’t have VoIP built in, as some current offerings do.

Weeden accomplished this by replacing a frame-relay network with an asynchronous transfer mode (ATM) wide area network (WAN) from WorldCom, and by installing a gateway between the V-band switch and the WAN with the help of trading-floor vendor Riverside
