Clarke: Only One Multi-bank Forex Platform May Win

LONDON--There may be just one multi-bank foreign exchange trading platform in the future, as costs to support and maintain the systems are too high for some participants to bear and clients are unwilling to pay for using the systems.

That is the view of Mark Clarke, global head of FX trading at Credit Agricole Indosuez. He says, "There may be one dominant platform in the future. They are not registered charities; they are here to make money, and we’re going to have to pay for the privilege."
