Scotiabank Moves Voice Data To DSL Network

TORONTO--The Bank of Novia Scotia has replaced voice and data connections to its branch office from a satellite and frame relay network to a new, higher capacity, using an Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line (ADSL) service from Bell Nexxia. The bank is apparently the first financial institution in Canada to use DSL as part of its core networking strategy.

The network upgrade includes replacing a 10 Mbps campus local area network (LAN) with a 100 Mbps Fast Ethernet LAN, which the bank plans to bump
