UNX Changes Messaging for Upgrade

TRANSACTION SYSTEMS

BURBANK, Calif.--UNX, a vendor of direct access trading systems, has made significant changes to its back-end technology with the release of version 5.0 of its Universal Brokerage trading system on March 22.

Version 5.0 consolidates access to ECNs and listed market makers and increases performance from 100 to 6,000 messages per second (mps), says CEO Randy Abernathy. A few clients are now in "late beta" tests of the platform and are scheduled to go live later this month, he says.
