Reuters Remains Unfazed By Successful EBS Launch
PROPRIETARY EXECUTION
Reuters officials weren't surprised by the impressive first day performance of the Electronic Broking Service (EBS), a rival order-matching system sponsored by 13 leading foreign exchange banks. According to Reuters international marketing manager for transactional products Robert Etherington, volume on Reuters' Dealing 2000-2 system remains "on target."
As for EBS, says Etherington, "We'll wait and see." And a Reuters' spokesperson adds, "First day trading is a phenomenon of its own." EBS volume
