GFI Raises $34 Million to Develop Tech for New Markets

NEW YORK--Broker GFI has raised $34 million in a second round of financing to expand its businesses in electronic and voice broking, developing new trading, analytics and market data systems to provide coverage for new markets.

Global head of product marketing Michel Everaert says the bulk of the cash will be spent on hiring people to add and expand broking desks, as well as in sales and support, and on investment in technology, infrastructure, and research and development. He says around one
