Industry Suffers Second Straight Decline

Screen counts were down 12 percent to 1,017,000 and revenues for the market data industry fell five percent to $6.5 billion in 2002, according to Inside Market Data Reference, which was released at the Inside Market Data 2003 conference in New York last Wednesday, April 23.

The difference is due to the fact that a significant portion of the contraction occurred at the bottom end of the market, while prices at the high end rose slightly, says David Anderson, editor of IMD Reference.
