London Stock Exchange Names Furse As New Chief Executive Officer

LONDON: The London Stock Exchange appointed Clara Furse as its new chief executive officer. Furse, a group chief executive of Credit Lyonnais, is the first woman to be appointed to the position in the exchange's 200-year history.
A former deputy chairman of Liffe and a managing director of UBS, Furse replaces Gavin Casey, who stepped down in the aftermath of the LSE's failed merger with Deutsche Bourse. Observers expect Furse to push for a closer relationship between the LSE and the London
