DMA Ramps Up in India

India, which approved DMA for institutional trades in April, will start to see DMA-delivered order flow in the fourth quarter with significant increase in volumes in 2009, concludes Sandeep Hebbar, author of the report.

A large portion of market participants already use electronic front-to-back office trading systems, which facilitates the quick adoption of DMA, according Hebbar. Additional issues fueling DMA demand include market frustration with front running by brokers, high execution latency
