The Putnam-Merrill project shows early promise for FIX for fixed income.

It’s been seven months since the Merrill-Putnam FIX and Fixed Income Proof of Concept project went live, but little has been heard about it. That’s mainly because it’s still running--in fact, it has no end date. But so far, the results are successful.

"The goals of the project were to establish a proof of concept to support the idea of a fixed-income IOI using the FIX protocol," says Michael O’Conor of Merrill Lynch, co-chair
