When I was young I started a newsletter called FX Week. At the time, the market was on the verge of a revolution. Minex, Quotron FX Trader and Reuters were all launching new matching services into the interbank foreign exchange market. Voice brokers braced themselves but ultimately watched the spot market get siphoned away by those transaction platforms.
