Scudder Sets Bake-Off Between Belvedere, Portia,With IDS Test Possible

Scudder, Stevens & Clark is evaluating Belvedere Financial Systems Inc.'s Global Portfolio System and Thomson Financial Services Inc.'s Portia to replace a proprietary portfolio management system running on a mainframe computer. While the GPS and Portia tests are set to begin, Scudder is said to be considering a test of Integrated Decision Systems Inc.'s Investment Manager II as well.
