Bank One Converts First Chicago To In-House Portfolio System

COLUMBUS, Ohio--With the merger between Bank One and First Chicago now completed, Robert Irwin, the chief technology officer for Bank One Investment Management Group, the asset management subsidiary, can get busy combining two sets of portfolio management, trade order management and accounting systems on to one joint platform.

The majority of the two companies' assets under management are in their mutual fund and trust businesses, and for the most part they are run on a combination of back-office
